The loft sits above the first-floor cocktail program. Forty seats. Two card tables. And along the back wall, the mezcal bar — espadín, tobalá, tepeztate, sotol, bacanora, raicilla. Every bottle named, dated, and poured by hand into copitas. It opens when La Bandida opens and closes when it's full.
Most of the room is walk-in. You climb the stairs and it either has space or it doesn't — no list, no app, nothing held on a name. If friends arrive separately, the host seats them separately and they find each other.
The exception is a table. Four or more can hold one for the night by buying it: bottle service, a minimum set by the night, a server on the table and the mezcal bar behind it. It's the room for a birthday, a closing, a send-off — the nights that want a table waiting instead of a stool found. Ask for one here.
The point of the loft isn't to fill it. It's to make people feel like finding it was their idea.
The list upstairs is shorter and stranger. Agave neat is the default: a copita, an orange, sal de gusano, no ice and no apology. The house signature — Knife in the Garter — pours only here. Off-menu builds are encouraged. Tell the bartender what you trust and what you don't.
